Harcham re-develops out-of-commission, small commercial properties, leveraging permitted development rights and applying green-building principles. We provide more homes, with more energy efficiency, while protecting green spaces and generating value.
As a business, Harcham combines the energy and drive of a start-up with practical property development nous to get projects up, running, and over the line.
New homes are in chronic short supply; green space and the environment generally is increasingly threathened; government regulations are forcing construction businesses to find more circular and sustainable solutions.
Harcham's approach is a response to these key issues. It creates new options for the owners of unused small commercial properties, generates new opportunities for 'green construction' businesses, and offers new value opportunities for investors.
Our approach
Harcham seeks out and renovates substandard but otherwise structurally sound small commercial premises. Initially, our focus is Buckinghamshire and surrounds.
We work with like-minded professionals to transform these unused buildings, using permitted development rights, and creating quality, affordable energy efficient homes.
Right through, we apply Green Building Council and United Nations Climate Change Conference principles. They include front-end engineering design techniques such as fabric-first and solar aspect; life-cycle elements including natural or recycled materials; energy or water re-use features; or other features highlighted in the diagram alongside.
All these steps reduce the carbon footprint of construction while enhancing comfort and reducing ongoing bills for the ultimate occupants.
Harcham seeks to work with property owners, green-building professionals and investors.
Owners can expect to benefit from new options and better returns for out-of-commission or underperforming properties.
Construction industry professionals will find new opportunities to apply green building principles, develop further expertise in the area, and add real-world projects to their portfolios.
Investors* will access a new, hands-on way to gain exposure to the property market with the potential for above average returns.
